Spaceboats go boom!
Astro Empires
I have created a script for this game called AE Bits. This script is used to enhance the game play and make certain functionality better or modifies the layout and coloring of the game to make it easier to understand. The script currently only works for Fire Fox and comes in 2 variations. The frist being a GreaseMonkey script and the second being a stand alone Fire Fox extension.

I have also started/created a Wiki for the script that should hopefully help people with questions they have about the script. You can learn more about the script on the AE Bits page.

New Derbris Distribution Script
November 8, 2010 08:57 am by Vig
I have updated the debris distribution script to have a tabbed interface. The first tab is the original single person manual add that was there before the change.

The main changes come on the second tab where you can now paste as many BR's as you want, specify a location and the defending guild and it will parse the information into the list automatically.

The location and defending guild fields are optional, if they are blank it will add all BR information added. If they are specified then it till look for BR's that match the criteria, meaning look for BR's that are at the location and/or are against the specified guild.

This should make everyone's like a lot easier when distributing derbs.

I still need to update the script to properly figure out the repair cost, so at the moment that does not work. Also there may be some bugs I have yet to encounter, if you find one please let me know and I will try and fix it as soon as possible.

I hope you all enjoy it :)

**UPDATE**
I have added the automatic repair functionality to the script so that should now be working properly :)

Script Compression
October 2, 2010 06:47 am by Vig
I have recently changed all the calculator scripts (battle calc, pillage calc, distance calc, debris calc) to be compressed. Meaning that they file sizes for the script are now significantly smaller (about 50%) which means they will download faster.

I have tested them and they appear to be fully functional and working properly, if however you encounter a bug please let me know so I can fix it asap.

In other news I am working on an update for the script and it should be ready soon and should hopefully introduce some neat new features.

Until then, keep enjoying the script :)

Debris Distribution Calculator
August 24, 2010 01:49 am by Vig
I have added a new calculator to my growing repository of calculators :p

This one is a handy way to divide up debris made in crashes by multiple people.
You simply add the values for each attack (Player Name, attacker losses, defender losses and debris) hit add and the script will sum up everything and divide the dirbs equally among the people that made the hits.

The division is based on how much of the total lost fleet each player had, so a quick example is if there are two people doing and attack Player A and Player B, Player A looses 3k Fleet and Player B looses 7k Fleet then the calculator gives Player A 30% of the debris and Player B 70%. Which is fair because Player B used more fleet to make the hit.

So Open it up and play around and see how you like it :)

Site is back to normal

My hosting company has just fixed the issue that took down my site.

I apologize to all my users for the 3 days that the site was down but we are back and live and ready to roll.

Site Loading Issues
August 20, 2010 09:39 am by Vig
On August 20, 2010 (today) is when my domain name is supposed to be renewed, i spoke to my hosting company and found out that there has been an issue with the actual renewal of the name from the company that owns all the .vg domains.

They are working on getting this resolved asap but I am unsure of how this will pan out and how it  will affect users of the site.

So unfortunately you may experience trouble viewing the site for the next few days while this issue is being resolved. Hopefully it will be done in a few hours but you never know.

I apologize for this inconvenience.

PS. I also realize that no one will be able to read this if my domain name does completely stop working but i figured it would be good to post it here for now.

Calculator Improvements
August 1, 2010 08:09 am by Vig
Hello all!

This week I have been busy improving my battle calculator and the distance calculator again.

The Battle Calc
  • Fixed a bug where the defense commander bonuses weren't being applied correctly (oops)
  • Added a link at the bottom that allows you to open the results of the battle into a new window or tab. This is great for quickly doing a FT drop and then figuring out what you need after to finish it off.
  • Updated the calc to now add turret equalization. While not 100% perfect it gives you a much better idea of how many turrets will be left after the game equalizes the turrets

The Distance Calc
  • Updated the distance calc so that it now auto generates BBC code for pasting into announcements. This BBC code is a reduced version of what the site offers you but it offers enough information to allow players to figure out when they need to launch. It also includes a link at the bottom to the site version of the calc if the user requires more info.

Well that's all for now!

Distance Calc Improvements
July 23, 2010 10:19 am by Vig
I made some changes to the link that the distance calc produces.

It was very incompatible when pasting it in AE, something I didn't think of for some reason, so I have changed how it is generated it to make it compatible with AE and also slightly more secure.

It is still compatible with the old link format so you need not worry about any links you may be currently using but from now on the script will only generate the new links.

New AE Bits Version 1.34 Is out!
July 7, 2010 09:27 am by Vig
Its that time again, a new version of my AE Bits script is out. Again just a few tweaks and fixes here and there but its all around good improvements. Check it out here.

You may or may not have noticed this but i added a PayPal donate button to the bottom right of the page. This is for people who wish to donate money and any money donated goes into paying to keep the server online.

I want to emphasis that you don't have to donate, everything will remain free to all its just an option for those who want to donate money.

Thanks all and enjoy the new version!

Improved Battle Calc and New Pillage Calc, Distance Calc
June 15, 2010 09:59 am by Vig
I have gone and added a pillage calculator to my site, it will compute the pillage as well as how much econ per hour they loose, how many days it takes for the economy to recover and how much income is lost during that time.

I also added a Distance calculator, this is used to calculate the time it takes for the different ships to travel from one place to another. You just fill out the start and end location, the Jump gate level, logistics commander level, the range of warp/ stellar levels you want to support and the time you wish them all to arrive at. The script will then generate the travel time and when the should launch to meet the arrival time.

In addition to this i have also improved the battle calculator in a couple ways, one being that I have tweaked the estimated debris calculation so that it is much more accurate. The other is i have added the option of specifying the bases economy to give you an idea of profit with the minimum pillage included.

Enjoy the new features :)

It is anonymous posting, where you fill in your name as what ever you wish. The only posts that appear different are mine which are orange, so you know its me.
